🍎 Gentle Hair & Skincare Routine for our Little Sunflowers 🌻 (Ages 6-12

It’s that time again — new backpacks, sharpened pencils, and busy mornings!

For little ones, keeping hair and skin healthy during the school year can feel like an extra task on top of an already packed schedule. But with the right routine, it can be quick, easy, and even fun.

1. Morning hair routines made easy

Choose protective styles that last all week: two-strand twists, cornrows, or simple braided ponytails.

Use a leave-in conditioner like our Sunflower Curl & Twirl leave in each morning to refresh curls and tame frizz. Follow with our Gurl Hold Yo Curl Mousse to handle any flyaways or untamed strands.

Encourage your child to help — they’ll feel proud, and it builds healthy habits early. Teach them how to moisturize & even brush their hair to create independence and build self esteem.

🧼 2. Gentle skincare basics

Children’s skin is sensitive: keep it simple!

Cleanse daily with a mild, fragrance-free cleansers like our hypoallergenic soap, or even our gentle therapeutic bars or body washes.

Apply a moisturizer, especially on cheeks and forehead where dryness shows first. Our body butters and skin butters are ideal to lock the moisture in even on dry skin.

🎒 3. Pack for the playground

Add a small Sunny In Denbigh body butter and Lippie in their backpack and remind them to reapply the moisture after bathroom breaks, recess or lunchtime.

Remind them: “If your skin feels dry or itchy, apply a little body butter to quickly helps!”

🍃 4. Keep it fun

Turn routines into quick bonding time:

Sing a song while styling

Let them choose hair beads or colorful hair accessories.

Teaches them why they need to use the products being applied to their hair & skin so they understand the why.

🛍 Try this:

❤️ Final tip:

The goal isn’t “perfect” hair or skin — it’s healthy habits and confidence, so your little Sunflower 🌻 starts each day feeling loved and cared for.
